Last day

Today was the anthropologists last day here. The elders decided to make him an honorary Lunari! He decided to take part in the tournament finally, after everyone had bugged him to. Only after the events did he revival that he is a traveling hunter interested in the way other villages manage their guilds! He one day hopes to make a guild that the other guilds report to, as a way of keeping track of the happening in the world. Henestly i will miss him, i enjoyed learning more about my own culture in the time that he was here. Maybe someday i could join this guild of his, as a representative of the Lunari.

How we interact with each other

Today the anthropologist asked about how we manage space. there are many answers to this but here are the simplified versions. Our culture encourages closeness. during meals there is hardly any room between you and the next person, when talking with someone it is fine to be close to someone but just out of arms reach would probably be the best. If you pay attention you will notice that most of us use exaggerated arm movements to help explain things. The clothing around the village tends to be shades of blue and white, in honor of the moon. Most are loose fitting but comfortable. In the guild most where their armors to signify their accomplishments. Most armors are form fitting to allow easy movement. When a hunter of villages turns up dead, a day long mourning period is held. it is only a day long because the one in question would want you to move on and progress with the happy things in life. After the grieving process is done the loved one is striped of their armor and burned, in order to prevent sickness. after the burning is done the ashes are scattered in a area blessed by the moonlight, which is usually a open field area. Around the village you will sometimes come across statues or shrines to the moon, or you can go to the Hall that honors  previous hunters that either protected the village or accomplished something great.

Festivals, Events, And Information

Today marks the start of the hunter festival! It lasts two lunar cycles. villages from all around come here to participate in this festival, not only for information sharing but for a tournament. The Lu-ar festival celebrate the continued cycle of the moon, and the success of the guild. While this festival is going on villages from all around come to partake in the tournament, share information, and to just have a good time. Every day for the next two cycles a tournament is held to determine the best hunter among the villages present. Contests are held to help provide the answer to this question. Strength, agility, stamina, and cooperation are among some of the most popular. Our village is referred to by some as moon worshiping weaklings that do nothing but look up at the sky. They are mostly the younger generation of hunters from the other villages, but little do they know that a beat down  awaits them. The festival is also a hub of information, anything you want to know about anything is at your fingertips, you just have to know who to ask. Posted around the village are information boards where event details are posted. There are even empty places available for others to use during the festival. During this time the whole village is decorated with lunar symbols and monster decorations, blue and white are the most noticeable colors because they represent the moon. Over most of the festivals our village has had the best fighters, i hope one day to make it there as well.

Leaders

Today the anthropologist wanted to know about the political structure of the village. when no one knew what that meant he simply said; How do the elders run things? That question is easier to answer. In terms of village goings, the elders organize and set up everything such as events. When a fishing boat needs to go out and catch fish for the village and to trade, they go to the elders and tell them how long they should be gone for, in case of emergency. When it comes to monsters and requests that the elders can not handle they appoint a guild leader. The guild leader then takes those request and splits them up into ranks for the members to do. once every two lunar cycles the elders hold a meeting where they ask the villagers if there is anything that needs attention, whether it be building repair, requests, or anything else. At any time there are usually seven to ten elders that are in charge. The elders that are in charge are decided at the meetings.

Class

Today the anthropologist wanted to know about classes and if we had a class system. The only place with a class system is the guild. While being any rank is fine there are some hunters that talk down to other hunters for being a lower rank than them. They will say things like, You are just a crescent! A scar! what do you know, Nothing! That's what! If this happens in the guild the guild leader usually gets after that person and scolds they pointing out that they were once a scar like the other hunter, followed by words of encouragement to the younger hunter. In terms of any class outside of the guild, it would really just be the chain of command. Elders, Guild Leader, Villagers and Merchants, Children, and lastly Travelers. Everyone in the village is treated equally in terms of gender. In fact the best elder we had was a man and the best guild leader so far was a very accomplished woman hunter.
